Dental Implants From Your Dentist in Bradenton

A great way to replace one or more missing teeth and enjoy a fixed replacement option, a dental implant offers patients a reliable and natural-looking way to restore their smiles!

What are dental implants?

Artificial tooth roots made from titanium, a dental implant is a tooth-replacement option that’s anchored into a patient’s jaw bone, where it begins to use with the bone for a series of months. Once secured in place, it’s then capped with a porcelain dental crown that looks and functions just like a natural tooth, restoring or enhancing the patient’s smiling, speaking, eating, and laughing confidence.

How long does it take to have a dental implant placed?

The process of implantation often takes several months and requires multiple visits to our office.

After we’ve confirmed that you’re a viable candidate for a dental implant, we’ll take x-rays and molds to determine how much gum tissue, bone, and space is available for the implant. (Should you require bone grafting to help the implant fuse properly, we’ll discuss the process with you.)

Next, we’ll schedule an appointment to insert the dental implant and once it’s in place, we’ll walk you through the after-care process to best facilitate healing. Following a series of months, we’ll schedule a visit to confirm that the implant is secure, and should this be the case, we’ll take a mold of the area to create your artificial tooth. We’ll then schedule a follow-up appointment to secure your crown to your implant.

How should an implant be cared for?

By flossing once and brushing twice daily, and seeing us for regular dental checkups and cleanings, you can help keep your implant in great condition for many years.
